A thinning hairline or loosing edges is a fear for many women of color. What’s worse, there are so many possible culprits! Thin edges have been linked to theories from styling hair too much to tight cornrows, twists and ponytails. They can also be attributed to genetics or more serious health conditions such as alopecia. Regardless of the culprit we’re gonna make sure all our sisters with thinning edges continue to have #FabulousHairFridays from here on out. Bangin’ Bantu Knots

Kyla Archibald and her bangin’ bantu style is our #fabouloushairfridays feature of the week. Her go-to protective hairstyle is long box braids but she decided to switch up her look and rock bantu knots followed by a bantu knot out. “My favorite part about the bantu styles are the natural look. My curls are tight and they stay for a long time after you take out the knots,” she shares. To achieve the bantu knots Kyla sectioned her hair, two strand twisted each section with Cantu Leave-In Conditioner, and spiraled the twists around to form the knot. Angel Strong is in our #fabuloushairfriday spotlight this week with her edgy and fun hairstyle. Always one to amaze with a fabulous hairstyle, Angel was looking for a switch up and decided to go with faux locs. "It's low maintenance and I love the hippie vibes," she says. There are many techniques to achieve this look including twisting and box braiding however, Angel took the quicker and easier route of crocheting her faux locs. BRINGING BACK THE 90’S LOOK WITH A TWIST

In the 90’s Janet Jackson set the stage for big braids in the movie “Poetic Justice”, now it seems like the look is coming back, this time in big twists, and its trending on social media. That is rocking the Crochet Twists. Natasha Ray explains the process saying "it involves getting my own hair cornrowed down to the base. Then the twists are added with an actual crochet hook.
