Pros and Cons of a Pescatarian Diet!

Pros and Cons of a Pescatarian Diet!

Have you ever heard of the pescatarian diet? This diet is one where you do not eat any meat but eat seafood. Here are a couple pros and cons of the diet.

Pros:

  • Weight Loss! With the pescatarian diet, it can be much easier to intake less calories and many develop fewer cravings. In the end, it may be easier to develop restraint which in the end could help you lose a significant amount of weight.
  • Broad Options! Although it may seem like you can’t eat anything anymore, there are still so many options you have. Seafood is broad, from different kinds of fish to shrimp and calamari. Not only this, but you can eat everything you normally do except for meat.

Cons:

  • Expensive! Living the pescatarian lifestyle can get very pricy. Seafood tends to be one of the most expensive animal proteins. A cheaper option is purchasing frozen or canned seafood but budgeting seafood into your grocery experience is important if this is the lifestyle you chose.
  • Fewer Quick Meal Options! With this particular lifestyle it can be very difficult to grab a quick meal because there aren’t always seafood options that you can grab on the go. If you are the kind of person who generally needs to go grab a quick bite to eat, this lifestyle can be very difficult to maintain.
