MISS BLACK NORTH CAROLINA TURNS STUNT DOUBLE TO FIGHT OFF HOLIDAY FAT

MISS BLACK NORTH CAROLINA TURNS STUNT DOUBLE TO FIGHT OFF HOLIDAY FAT

Yasten Burton: I struggled with my weight being that I had a growth spurt in the 5th grade. I couldn’t understand why my body was more developed than all my other classmates, which lead to much insecurity. Thankfully I had a great family support system that instilled in me that I was beautiful inside and out.

As I got older weight management is something I constantly had to work on. My dream is to become a stunt double actress. So, I’m trained in stage combat; therefore I have to keep myself very active and healthy. I make sure that after along day of training that I give my body a chance to recover from all the physical demands from that day. Every night, before I go to bed I meditate and stretch to get ready for the next day.

In addition to my training, I am a woman that wears many hats and is always on the go; which keeps me active as well. My goal is to be active during the whole year, so that when the holidays come up my weight won’t be as effected. Portions and plate size are the tools needed to keep the weight off, but I also recognized that my eating habits are a life style and not a diet. I don’t eat to stuff myself; I eat just enough to be satisfied. Allowing your body to tell you when you are full is a great tool to keeping the weight off.
