Diets. The trendy ones catch our eye and make us want to reap the same benefits and results of the before and after picture testimonials on tv or social media. We try them and grow extremely disappointed in the diet and false hope we were given. What about intermittent fasting?

Intermittent fasting is a cyclical pattern of eating and fasting. This diet strays from telling the kinds of foods one should eat and gives those who act on this fasting the times in which they should eat.

The 16/8 method involves restricting your daily eating period to 8 hours, such as 1–9 p.m. Then you fast for 16 hours in between.
This sounds like a long time to refrain from eating but generally this time is time spent in the hours before going to bed, the hours spent sleeping and the few hours after waking up.

Eat-Stop-Eat method involves fasting for 24 hours, once or twice a week, for example not eating anything at all from dinner one day until dinner the next day.
The 5:2 method involves you consuming only 500–600 calories on two non-consecutive days of the week. You eat normally the other 5 days.
