HOW TO RECOVER FROM POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

HOW TO RECOVER FROM POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

Post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD is a diagnosis given to thousands of women (and men) each year. The diagnosis follows a group of depression, anxiety, fear, OCD, and panic like symptoms that occur after a (usually negative and tragic) event. These events can include: childbirth, any type of abuse (physical, sexual, emotional) death of a family member, military services; the list goes on.

PTSD symptoms can last for years after an event and impact a woman in a very hard way every single day. These events can strip a woman of her dignity and her positive self-image, value, and spirit. She could isolate herself from family, friends, children, jobs and life could feel impossible for her to live.

Step one to PSTD recovery is knowing that you aren’t alone. Step two is knowing that fear only has the effect it has because you choose to give it that power. There is a healthy, non-pharmaceutical way for you to work through this to overcome and begin living as the beautiful soul you are.

I have found a selection of books that I recommend for help:

  1. The PTSD Workbook by: Mary Beth Williams, PhD & Soili Poijula, PhD. The book is filled of unique and inspiring ways to journal and positively affect your emotions.
  1. The Gift of Fear by Gavin DeBecker

Reiki and long distance Energy work session can also help a great deal. Feel free to call me for a phone or Skype session at 760.798.6400 or if you are in the San Diego, Ca area I would love to meet with you.
