What to do with all the holiday left overs? You can only eat them, but so many days in a row. Once the love of granny’s sweet potatoes has faded, use your beloved left overs on your hair.
Sweet Potatoes: High in vitamins A, B6, C, and D, these yummy delights are natural hair loss fighters and deeply moisturize even the coarsest of hair.
Try This: In a small pot, cook 1 mashed sweet potato and 3 tablespoons of honey. Once warm, add 1/4 cup of greek yogurt. Apply from root to tip and place plastic cap on for 30 minutes. Voila! You now have a wonderful deep conditioning treatment!
Honey: A natural humectant, honey helps you retain moisture for a long period of time. It also smooths down damaged ends and acts as a great pre-conditioner anti-frizz serum.
Try this: Combine honey and extra Virgin olive oil in a microwaveable bowl. Heat for 15-30 seconds, let cool, and apply to entire head. Give yourself a good scalp massage with it and place a plastic cap on for 30 minutes.
Other left over ingredients like lemons and cornstarch combined act as a good dry shampoo. Lemons help clear up buildup and dirt that styling aids may leave behind.
So before you toss out those holiday left overs, think of which you can use for your own at-home hair recipes.
