HIV Vaccine Awareness Day!

HIV Vaccine Awareness Day!

Does anyone know what May 18th is? No? It’s okay, girl, I’ll tell you. May 18th is HIV Vaccine Awareness Day! The National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) leads this observance. This day is observed to recognize all the people who work daily towards finding a way to prevent the contracting and spread of HIV.

Not only is this day a to recognize those who work towards HIV prevention, but this is a day to educate about the importance of HIV prevention research. You can go to AIDSinfo to learn more about preventive HIV vaccines and therapeutic HIV vaccines.

Our health is extremely important, but so is our education about our health. To learn more, please follow Black Girl Health on Instagram and our blog.
