Women came out to Reservoir Park on Saturday ready for a workout and that’s exactly what they got and more. KICKSTART was a day NOT about competition, but motivating and supporting women to kick in gear their workout plan as the warmer months are ahead.
This event was aimed at encouraging women to take control of their health by making better choices, not just with fitness and nutrition, but with relationships, and behaviors that affect your mental, physical, and emotional health. Gaudenzia New Option was our primary partner to promote women’s health at Kickstart.
This event was an extension of the partnership between Gaudenzia and BGH to mobilize minority women to advocates women’s health by spreading HIV awareness sponsored by the National Library of Medicine. Additional event sponsors included Tropical Smoothie Café and Walters Portable Toilets. The City of Harrisburg’s Public Works Department was very accommodating to making sure the event was a success.
Kickstart included a pre-workout with Fitness Trainer Amy Veigle, and the 2k Run led by Miss Black DC and Miss Black US Ambassador Ebony Andrews, and 2k Walk led by Motivational leader Karlise Cureton.
