Enjoying yourself and Staying slim on this Fat Tuesday | Mardi Gras

Hey Sis! I hope you’re enjoying your day today, I know I am. While I haven’t been able to tear myself away from work this week, I hope you are out enjoying yourself for this lovely Fat Tuesday. When you are out enjoying yourself today, you don’t have to put the FAT in fat tuesday. There are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself while still having a good time, and so today I will give you my top tips to stay slim on Fat Tuesday.

Drink Tequila (if you’re drinking spirits)

I know a lot of you out there are like, I can’t do Tequila. I thought that too for while until my aunt put me on. We had some nice Don Pedro with lemonade, it was delicious and effective! Not only did I not have a headache, I didn’t get sick either, which is big for me cause I get sick often from alcohol. Not only is minimizing a hangover a great reason to make the switch, but out of all the spirits, tequila is the healthiest. As long as it is 100% agave tequila, there are some health benefits that come with it.  Now I can’t sit here and tell you that drinking tequila will help you lose weight, but at around 60 calories per shot it can help you save some of that Gym Progress you’ve been making.

Don’t forget about your diet

Mardi gras is a time to try new foods, have a good time and let your hair down. However if you’re serious about your fitness goals, you want to keep your diet in mind when you’re eating out. Your not going to ruin your trip if you don’t have everything fried, and often times we tend to go overboard in the name of vacation. I’m not saying don’t try fun foods, but try getting an entree within your diet, keto for example, and then share something fun with friends. That way you fill yourself up on the food that’s better for you, and still getting to taste those interesting new foods you can’t get at home.


This is a big one, but I’m not going to tell you to get up at 5am and do yoga while you’re suffering from a hangover (should have gone for the tequila). What I mean here is get out on the dance floor! Dancing is one of the best ways to get exercise in while on your vacation. If you’re shy, you can just get your dance on in the hotel room during your pre-turn up, but after a couple of those tequila shots you might be more willing to let loose and work up a sweat on the dance floor. You also, can’t drink and fully dance at the same time so that’s an easy way to have the time of your life while distracting yourself from getting back to back drinks.

So those are my top tips for staying slim on this Fat Tuesday, and I hope that you can use these tips today while you’re out enjoying yourself. Stay on track for your goals and at he same time, live your best life!
