Don’t Rush Your Fitness Journey, It Takes Time!
Why does “patience” and “fitness” have to work together?
Have you ever weighed yourself and got frustrated with the scale? Or looked in the mirror and began to criticize your body? It’s ok! We’ve all done it before. As women, our bodies are constantly changing. But instead of being patient with our bodies, we tend to want a major body transformation in a day.
The truth is, it’s unrealistic! It’s not that our goals aren’t reachable, it’s the unrealistic time frame we give ourselves to reach them. Weight loss is a slow process and if you want to do it right, you have to be patient with your body.
Here are 4 tips that will help you obtain patience during your fitness journey:
- Plan ahead and give your body time to transform. You didn’t gain the weight overnight, so don’t expect to drop unwanted pounds overnight.
- Stay consistent and make your fitness journey a priority. Just like you make bathing, washing clothes, and sending your kids to school a priority, make fitness one too.
- Practice make perfect, so practice being patient. Practice being patient with other aspects of your life. Once you are able to do that, you will then find yourself being more patient throughout your fitness journey.
- If you put in the work, make sure you count your nutrition. Nutrition matters! If you workout 5-6 times a week, but during the week you consume fast food, don’t expect strategic changes to your body.
