UNDERSTANDING YOUR CURL PATTERNS
Discovering your curl pattern allows you to understand your hair’s unique characteristics, product selection and styling do’s and don’ts. The curl pattern begins at Type 2a all the way to Type 4c. The letters beside each number defines the hair density i.e. “a” = fine/thin hair “b”= medium thick “c” = very dense/thick coarse hair. The 2's Hair types 2a, 2b and 2c consist of a loose wavy curl pattern. This hair type tends to get easily weighed down from heavy products with a tendency to frizz. This hair type does well with sulfate-free shampoos, light silicone-free conditioners and curl enhancing products to help formulate curl definition.
