GIRLS CAN DO PULL UPS TOO!

Here’s a great way to start training your body to do pull ups.  Grab a band, place one foot on the band, and wrap your other leg around it. Make sure to control your negative movement (down portion of the movement). When you are at the top portion of your movement, flex your back, and then try to pause for a second. Don’t forget to engage your core during the entire movement. There are different size bands available to help train you, so that you can achieve your goals.  As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at aveigle@hotmail.com Aquí está una gran manera de empezar el entrenamiento de su cuerpo para hacer pull ups. Coge una banda,  coloque un pie en la banda...

DAILY HAIR-CARE GUIDE TO HEALTHY HAIR

Whether you have relaxed or natural hair, the journey to achieving or maintaining healthy looking hair remains the same. I’m not going to lie, I lack knowledge of the daily steps to keep my hair growing and not breaking. My life is extremely busy and can sometimes be quite hectic juggling several different task at once. Hence, I’m exhausted by the time I get home and I always seem to forget to wrap my hair or put my sponge rollers in. So, I need just as much encouragement in taking caring of my hair as you do. Overall, basic hair care maintenance is something that I know very little about, let alone practice on a regular basis, but I’ve recently been determined to change. So when I...

‘YOUR DRY SCALP MAY ACTUALLY BE YEAST’

Does your scalp look dry despite using a lot of moisturizers, hot oil treatments, and whatever other hair remedies?  You may actually have DANDRUFF or in our medical fancy terms, ‘SEBORRHEIC DERMATITIS’. Your scalp may not be dry from lack of moisture but, it is actually flaking off from the Pityrosporum yeast.  Don’t worry many of us get this condition, especially if the scalp is not washed frequently, especially with the extra hair oils, which can worsen yeast over-growth. Often, we fear that if we wash too much, our hair will get too dry. But, stop to think…. scalp is skin that is connected to the back of your neck and face every day.  So, why do you wait to ‘wash the skin above the back...

3 TIPS ON HOW TO PROTECT YOUR HAIR FROM SUMMER RAYS

Soaking up sun, exploring, and max'n and relax'n is what summer is all about. While you may love all these things about summer and more, your hair may feel differently. Harsh summer rays damage your hair and dry it out. Here are some tips to keep your hair moisturized throughout the summer. Use water based products. If one product isn't keeping hair moisturized enough, layer it with another product...

DON’T WAIT TO EXHALE

What does "letting go" mean? In yoga we "let go what doesn't serve you". This means that any pent up aggressions, self-demeaning thoughts, people that have hurt you, bills you might be late on, work that needs done, all of that crap ceases to exist. I recently visited a place that held a lot of emotions for me of not just growth and new experiences, but of lost love, sadness, and guilt. I needed to let it all go, to STOP holding onto it in order to regain pieces of myself that I had given away. Have you ever felt like this? Have you ever wondered how you'll ever feel "whole" again? Get comfortable (outside in nature if able). Fill your whole mouth with air: under your...
