HOW YOUR NAILS CAN BE A REFLECTION OF BLACK HISTORY

At one time in history black was the favorite color applied to fingernails, and men; not women; wore it! A warrior about to go to war used to have his hair polished and curled, his nails manicured and colored, and his lips tinted to match. The use of color indicated status; black for the important, green for people of the lower classes. This status symbol stayed for many years. Queen Nefertiti, daughter-in-law of Tut-ankh-Amen reigned in Egypt 3,000 years ago, painted her fingernails and toenails red. Cleopatra’s extracted her nail color from the juice of the henna plant. Henna on the nails was limited by a strict social code. Only a brave women dared to color her nails above her “status.” Women of lowly rank were permitted light colors...

FAILING TO PLAN IS PLANNING TO FAIL!

People who keep track of their goals and/or to do list are said to be the most productive & fulfilled. For This #NoDistressSunday, fix yourself a cup of sunshine (Warm water + juice of 1/4 a lemon) and write a list of mini goals you want to accomplish this week. You can simply start with "write this week’s goals list." This way you have not only begun on the right foot, but you have something you can cross off the list as “mission accomplished”! “He who fails to plan is planning to fail" …Winston Churchill #NoDistressSunday #Goals2016  #Stressfreesundays...

TO GEL OR NOT TO GEL

When it comes to doing our nails, we have many choices and I'm not talking color. We can get gel nails with UV or LED at our salon, or do our nails at home with a semi-gel or traditional nail lacquer. Which is best? Which will last longest? Which one is the best cost? UV Gel nails (like Shellac by CND) claim their polish will last 2 weeks. Part-Gel nails (like MIRACLE GEL™by Sally Henson) also last 2 weeks. Regular nail lacquer will last 4-7 days (longer if you use top coat) Which is the safest? Nail...

SEX: THE GOOD VS. THE BAD

There are benefits to “healthy sex,” which includes stress relief, increase in levels of the good hormones, and calorie burning, to name a few. UN-healthy sex, however, cannot only cause extensive emotional trauma and scars, but can lead to devastating emotional tornados and changes to your body.  UN-healthy sex can cause a depression like state, poor self esteem, decreased sex drive, extreme fatigue, insomnia (sleeplessness), strange dreams, abuse, energy blockages, and more.
