BGH BookClub and Chill| Mental Health

Happy New Year sis! I hope your 2019 is filled with prosperity, growth, and health. I am here to make an announcement, and to bring something fun to your new year as well. Can you guess what it is? ( well from reading the title of this post you should already know). I’m partnering with BGH to bring the BGH Book Club! We are accomplishing all our goals this year sis and the books I have lined up for you will motivate you, push you forward and elevate you to accomplish your dreams.

So how will this work?

Every month we are going to have a book that we will be reading together. The last day of the month I will post my review on the book as a blog post on BGH. In addition to my review I will post some questions about the book that will provoke thought and discussion. On the evening that the post goes up I will be going live on social media to discuss the book and maybe have a little wine too!

So what’s the first book?

Our first book is going to be a book called The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. We are first going to start our new year off by learning to be more present in the moment. I’ve read this book previously but am excited to read it again. This book has changed the way I think in so many different ways and that’s why I want to share it with you. You can pick up a copy from Amazon  here for under $10.

I’m Busy, how can I add reading to my schedule?

Great question sis. So many benefits come from reading a book that we don’t even realize we are missing out on something good. Here are some of the ways I fit reading in when I have a full busy schedule:

  1. Read to your kids – They won’t understand the book so much either way, but it’s quality time and who knows they may even fall asleep (for a double win)
  2. Read right before bed – Instead of sleeping with the TV on, get the audiobook version  (or the regular version) and read/listen right before bed. Books are great for making a person fall asleep. This can also help you get to bed on time (again double win)
  3. Listen to the audiobook during your commute – as much as I like rapping to Cardi B and singing to some Beyonce out loud in the privacy of my own car, swapping them out for a book 3 times a week (depending on the length of your commute) can help a lot and even put you in a good mood.
  4. Listen during a bath – Toss in a couple bath bombs grab some wine and listen or read (trust me you’ll feel like you’re living in luxury)

So Those are my top tips for reading on a busy schedule. The books on my list will be great reads and a little girl time with you guys live will be fun also! Our first meeting will be on Thursday January 31st 2019 at 9pm EST. I look forward to seeing you guys there!

We are going to live our best lives together in 2019!

XoXo

Nikki
