What is the true definition of Motivation?

Mo·ti·va·tion

the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.

When Monday morning hits –  you probably thought “ I don’t want to do this, I just want to stay in bed, with the cover pulled over my face and pass the day away.” As you did, so did many others, even myself. Now we can all do that, and watch as the day goes by while we laid in bed unproductive from sunrise to sunset, but then what. What fulfillment would that give you, what will you have accomplished, in what way did you grow?

But you already know that. So you get up anyway, brush your teeth, put on clothes, and you’re out the door. But, the question is not about if you can get up everyday, it’s about how you get up everyday. When you walk out the door, are you leaving with the attitude of ambition and hunger? Or do you leave with a spirit of mediocrity and just praying for it to be night so you can get back in bed. Your motivation is your foundation of the success you have. If you do not have that UMPH- that makes you run a marathon just to get to where you want to be, then you will always feel a sense of emptiness that was supposed to be fulfilled by your achievements. Laziness and fear are the number one killers of motivation. One may fear that they can’t do something because of this excuse and that one, and just throw in the towel before even getting started. Another may just be so unwilling to be motivated that they carry a spirit of laziness with them and it weighs them down. But stop with the excuses, and the fear, and the unwillingness to be great. Find your motivation because I know you can do it and success look great on you girl! Get up every morning and use those affirmations, remember your “why” and leave the house with some UMPH- in you. I promise it will pay off. I know you can do, because you have that black girl magic.
