BGH Live! Talking Health & Fitness with the Ectors’ and Robyn Dixon

Black Girl Health Kickstart Health Expo

This year, BGH hosted its 3rd annual Kickstart Health Expo that focused on encouraging African American women to improve their quality of life through health, wellness, beauty, fitness, and nutrition. There were more than 200 women that filled the halls of Crowne Plaza in Harrisburg, PA – all wanting to learn how to live a better life.

Workshops and More!

During the event, more than 10 workshops were hosted by certified nutritionists, as well as yoga and Zumba instructors. Each session lasted for about one-hour, allowing women to participate in workouts, activities, and more! Black business owners also filled the halls offering informative lectures on various beauty products and health and fitness items.

In between the workshops, participants were given the opportunity to take HIV testing, measure their blood pressure, blood sugar, as well as cholesterol. The idea was to provide every participant with accurate vitals in order to make necessary health changes.

The mother and daughter fitness duo, Ellen and Lana Ector, hit the BGH Live stage in action demonstrating exercises, discussing nutrition and explaining their personal journey of health and wellness. Ellen and Lana Ector, fitness professionals, have helped thousands of women across the globe attain their fitness goals and continue to inspire women just like you and me.

Housewives of Potomac, Robyn Dixon, hit the BGH Live stage speaking about marriage, financial freedom, her cosmetic line, and fitness. Her inspirational speech encouraged us all that we can be triple threats and work in whichever capacity we would like.
