4 Healthy Habits to Stop Now!

When it comes to healthy living we want to work towards our goals. Being overzealous may seem like it will get you to the finish line first however we’ve found some healthy habits that actually work against you.

Have you ever set the mantra “go hard or go home”? It turns out, doing the most has its downside. Here are 4 “healthy habits” that are actually sabotaging your health and wellness goals.

Too Much Exercise

How long are your sweat sessions? Too much exercise can result in the production of too many free radicals (cells that cause everything from cancer to heart disease) and lead to damage of our muscle cells and cause fatigue. Professionals recommend 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week equal to 30 minutes 5 times a week.

Eating Low Fat Foods

When fat is removed from food, it’s often replaced with sugar for flavor and additional chemicals (thickeners and additives) to retain the taste. Your low fat foods turn into a product that’s higher in calories, sugar, and packed with chemicals. That can lead to overall health and weight problems.

Did you know: fat helps you to burn fat? It also protects your organs and keeps you satisfied.

Green Juice Detox

Green Juice detoxes have long been revered as a healthy way to loose weight fast. In actuality, when you juice you’re missing out on protein which can lead to muscle loss instead of fat loss. In addition, When Juice detoxing you lose out on fats, fiber and calories which can lead to irritability, fatigue, yo-yo dieting and mental distress.

Washing Produce

Wait, what? That’s right, if you’re wasting your produce with soap this is not recommended. Studies show rinsing your produce with water alone is just as effective – and healthier than washing with soap.

Isn’t it refreshing to know you can reach your goals with less effort? Reprogramming your attitude when it comes to fitness and food will get you healthier results. Keep in mind healthy living is a marathon, not a sprint. You’re in it for the long haul so take your time.
